Access to the personal tax account - Portal das Finansas
There are 2 options for accessing your tax account on Portal das Finansas:
- Online - order, after which you will receive access codes by regular mail or letter. Important! Make sure you have entered the correct postal address in the SEF online account and, that you have access to the mailbox.
- Offline in the tax office
Look for the one closest to you on Google maps - Tax, aka Finanças.
At the entrance say “Bom dia. I would like to receive a password for access via the internet to the finance portal. Obrigado". Receive a ticket and wait.
When you get to the specialist for an appointment, tell them you need access to your tax account. They may ask "Why do you need it?", to which you should answer that you have premises and you need to open a company urgently (joke).
Give your passport, NIF, and phone number, then you'll get a piece of paper with a password.
The password must be changed within 5 days, otherwise, you'll have to repeat all of the above again.
