About Temporary Protection of Ukrainians in Portugal
Temporary protection – a special residence regime granted by the Portuguese authorities, valid for one year in Portugal, renewable for up to one year (now extended until the end of 2024), allowing access to basic services and integration measures, such as access to the labor market .
This is an exceptional procedure that provides immediate temporary protection in the event of a mass influx of displaced persons from third countries who cannot return to their country of origin.
It was decided to provide Temporary Protection to persons who were displaced from Ukraine as a result of the recent armed conflicts in the country.
